Environmental Education: A discipline that encompasses the study and application of knowledge about the natural world with the aim of fostering informed decision-making, responsible behavior, and sustainable living. It incorporates elements of education, social studies education, and United States history education by examining the relationship between humans and the environment throughout time, as well as the cultural, political, and economic factors that influence environmental policies and practices. Environmental Education promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, and often involves hands-on, experiential learning opportunities in both indoor and outdoor settings.
