Definition of Environmental Education as it relates to Education, Continuing Education, Secondary Education

Environmental Education encompasses the teaching and learning of environmental issues, including climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and sustainability. It focuses on building knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to understand and address these challenges. Environmental Education can take place in various settings such as schools, universities, community organizations, and nature centers, and it can be formal or informal. It often involves hands-on, experiential learning activities that connect individuals with the natural world and promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Environmental Education aims to empower individuals to become environmentally literate citizens who are able to make informed decisions and take responsible actions for the benefit of the environment and future generations.
