Competitive Intelligence refers to the process of gathering, analyzing, and utilizing information about competitors in a business environment to gain a strategic advantage. It encompasses various activities such as market research, competitor profiling, and trend analysis. The ultimate goal is to understand the competitive landscape, identify opportunities and threats, and make informed business decisions. This category is closely related to Business Intelligence, as both involve data-driven decision making, but while Business Intelligence focuses on internal data and processes, Competitive Intelligence is concerned with external factors such as market trends and competitor strategies. Quality Control also intersects with Competitive Intelligence in that understanding the quality of one's own products and services compared to competitors can provide valuable insights for strategic planning.
