Definition of Cloud Computing as it relates to Technology, Internet of Things, Data Storage

Cloud computing refers to the delivery of different services through the Internet. These resources include tools and applications like data storage, servers, databases, networking, and software. Instead of keeping files on a proprietary hard drive or local storage device, cloud-based storage makes it possible to save them to a remote database. As such, cloud computing allows for easy access to data and programs—and enables users to work remotely on shared resources from anywhere in the world. It's an essential part of IoT infrastructure because smart devices need somewhere to send and retrieve information. In this context, it functions as both a secure storage space and a powerful computing resource that can process large amounts of incoming data quickly and efficiently.
