New Testament

Definition of New Testament as it relates to Religions, Monotheism, Moses, Ethical Monotheism, Christianity

The New Testament is a collection of texts that are central to Christianity, representing the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as the early Christian church's beliefs, practices, and teachings. It is the second part of the Christian Bible, following the Old Testament, which contains Jewish scriptures. The New Testament includes 27 books, written in Greek by various authors over a period of several decades following Jesus' death. These texts include the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), which recount the life and teachings of Jesus, as well as letters from early Christian leaders like Paul, Peter, James, and John to various Christian communities. The New Testament is an integral part of Ethical Monotheism, a form of monotheistic belief that emphasizes moral behavior and personal responsibility towards God and others, which was introduced by Moses and further developed in Christianity. It builds upon the foundation laid by Judaism and represents a unique expression of religious thought within the broader context of monotheistic religions.
