Spirituality

Definition of Spirituality as it relates to Religions, Pantheism, Christian Science

Spirituality, as it relates to Christian Science, is an intensely personal and introspective exploration of one's relationship with the Divine. It emphasizes direct experience and perception of God's presence and love, often through meditation and prayer. Within Christian Science, spirituality transcends denominational boundaries and encourages a deep sense of interconnectedness with all living things, reflecting the inherent goodness and perfection of the divine creation. This perspective also shares similarities with Pantheism's view of God as immanent in the natural world, while maintaining the distinction that Christian Science sees God as a conscious, intelligent force rather than an impersonal one. By fostering spiritual growth and understanding, individuals are better able to navigate their earthly lives and contribute positively to society, embodying the teachings of Christian Science founder Mary Baker Eddy: "The vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 113).
