Quantum Physics
Quantum Physics, as it fits into the Science/Physics/Classical Mechanics hierarchy, explores the behavior of matter and energy at very small scales, such as molecules, atoms, and subatomic particles like electrons and photons. It challenges classical mechanics by revealing that on this microscopic level, certain properties do not follow the rules of classical physics but rather those of quantum mechanics, which can seem strange and counterintuitive compared to our everyday experiences. This field provides a foundation for understanding modern technology like lasers, semiconductors, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In essence, Quantum Physics is about probabilities and wave-particle duality, challenging the very nature of reality as we understand it in classical physics.
