Cell Biology
Cell Biology investigates the fundamental functions and structures of cells, which are the basic units of life. It explores various aspects such as cell growth, division, death, and how they interact with their environment, forming tissues and organ systems. Given its focus on the smallest living units, Cell Biology can be seen as a bridge between Life Science and Physics within the hierarchy of Science. It provides insights into the physical principles that govern cellular processes, including energy transfer, molecular interactions, and biophysical properties of cells. Thus, it represents an integration of concepts from Life Science, Physics, and even Chemistry, providing a comprehensive understanding of how life operates at the most fundamental level.
