Definition of Educational Technology as it relates to Education, Instructional Technology, Learning Management Systems

Educational Technology refers to the application of technology in education, encompassing a broad range of tools and strategies designed to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment processes. It includes instructional technology, which involves the use of digital resources such as multimedia presentations, simulations, and interactive games to support student engagement and understanding; as well as Learning Management Systems (LMS), web-based platforms that facilitate course management, communication, and collaboration between students and instructors. Educational Technology is not limited to any specific subject area or grade level, but rather represents a holistic approach to integrating technology in education to improve learning outcomes, foster creativity and innovation, and promote lifelong learning.
