Definition of Educational Technology as it relates to Education, Instructional Technology, Augmented Reality

Educational Technology refers to the application of technology in educational settings to enhance learning experiences and improve teaching outcomes. It encompasses the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of technological tools and resources aimed at facilitating instruction, supporting student engagement, and promoting collaboration. Instructional technology is a subset of educational technology that focuses on the use of technology to deliver course content, facilitate communication between students and instructors, and assess student learning. Augmented reality (AR) is one such instructional technology tool that superimposes digital information onto the physical environment, enabling learners to interact with real-world objects in new and innovative ways. Educational technology as a whole seeks to leverage technological advancements to create dynamic and personalized learning environments that foster student success and promote lifelong learning.
