Multicultural Education
Multicultural Education refers to an approach that values and incorporates the cultural backgrounds, histories, languages, traditions, and experiences of diverse racial, ethnic, and linguistic groups into all aspects of schooling, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development. It aims to create equitable and inclusive learning environments where students can develop a critical understanding of their own identities, cultures, power relations, and social justice issues. Multicultural Education also seeks to challenge and transform systemic barriers that perpetuate racism, discrimination, and oppression in education and society. It promotes the development of intercultural competence, respect, empathy, and solidarity among all students, teachers, and communities.
