It emphasizes on the materiality and physical presence of the artwork itself, focusing on color, form, line, texture and composition as its primary means of expression. This art form is rooted in geometric abstraction, where shapes are organized into complex patterns to create dynamic visual experiences that evoke emotions purely through their formal qualities. Pioneers of Concrete Art include Theo van Doesburg, Max Bill, and Josef Albers.
