Expressionist Architecture is a style of Modern Architecture that emerged in the early 20th century, particularly in Germany and Austria. The style was a reaction against traditional architectural styles and sought to convey feelings and emotions through its designs, rather than simply serving functional purposes. Expressionist Architecture is also closely associated with the International Style of Modern Architecture, which emphasized simplicity, functionality, and the use of industrial materials in building design.
