Building Information Modeling
A Building Envelope refers to the physical separator between the interior and exterior environments of a building, designed to control the flow of heat, air, light, and moisture. It encompasses components such as walls, roofs, windows, doors, and insulation systems that work in unison to provide protection, energy efficiency, and comfort for occupants. As an integral part of both architecture and interior architecture, a building envelope's design plays a significant role in the overall aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability of a structure. Architectural software tools facilitate the analysis and optimization of building envelopes by simulating environmental conditions, energy consumption, and material performance to create high-performing, resilient, and visually appealing designs.
