Walruses
Walruses are large marine mammals known for their distinctive tusks and whiskers. They are native to the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere, where they spend most of their lives in or near the water. Walruses are social animals that live in groups called herds, and they primarily feed on benthic invertebrates such as mollusks, worms, and crustaceans. They have a thick layer of blubber that provides buoyancy and insulation in cold waters, and their tusks are used for various purposes, including fighting, foraging, and hauling themselves out of the water onto ice floes or land. Walruses are an essential part of the Arctic ecosystem, and their populations have been impacted by climate change, habitat loss, and hunting.
