Definition of Artificial Intelligence as it relates to Electronics, Computers, Cloud Computers, Web Hosting

Artificial Intelligence, often abbreviated as AI, refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using the information), reasoning (using the rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions) and self-correction. AI can be categorized as either weak or strong. Weak AI, also known as narrow AI, is an AI system that is designed and trained for a particular task. Virtual personal assistants, such as Apple's Siri, are a form of weak AI. Strong AI, also known as artificial general intelligence, is an AI system with generalized human cognitive abilities. When presented with an unfamiliar task, a strong AI system is able to find a solution without human intervention. In the context of Electronics and Computers, AI refers to the integration of machine learning algorithms and AI-capable hardware, such as application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) designed to accelerate specific AI tasks. Cloud Computing and Web Hosting enable organizations to rent AI infrastructure on an as-needed basis, reducing the barrier to entry for AI development. AI has numerous applications in various industries including but not limited to healthcare, finance, manufacturing, retail, education, transportation and entertainment. These applications range from predictive analytics, natural language processing, robotics, computer vision, expert systems, speech recognition, to name a few. The potential of AI is vast and continues to grow as technology advances.
