Animism

Definition of Animism as it relates to Religions, Agnosticism, Monotheism

Animism is the belief that objects, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence. This perspective contrasts with monotheistic religions, which hold that there is only one god, and agnosticism, which holds that the existence of a deity is unknowable. Within the context of the hierarchy "Religions/Agnosticism/Monotheism/Animism," animism can be understood as a spiritual worldview that recognizes and reveres the presence of the divine in all things, distinct from the belief in a single, all-powerful deity or the rejection of such beliefs.
