Cultural Studies
Cultural Studies: An interdisciplinary field dedicated to the examination and analysis of culture and its various expressions, including language, education, literature, media, and visual arts. It investigates how cultural practices shape and are shaped by power relations, identity formations, and social structures, with a particular emphasis on issues of race, gender, sexuality, class, and nationality. In the context of Education, Cultural Studies can encompass the study of foreign language education, elementary school education, among others, as it interrogates how cultural values and beliefs inform teaching practices, curricula, and educational policies. It encourages critical reflection, dialogue, and engagement with diverse perspectives to promote social justice, equity, and inclusivity in educational settings and beyond.
