Definition of Cultural Studies as it relates to Books, Political Books
Cultural Studies: An interdisciplinary field dedicated to the examination and analysis of cultural practices, representations, and institutions. It encompasses a wide range of subjects, including literature, film, art, music, theater, and digital media, with an emphasis on understanding how these forms shape and are shaped by power relations, social structures, and historical contexts. Political books, as well as other types of literature, can often be a focus within Cultural Studies, as they reflect and engage with the cultural and political debates of their time. Scholars in this field employ diverse theoretical frameworks, including Marxism, feminism, postcolonialism, and queer theory, to interrogate issues of identity, representation, resistance, and social justice.
