Climate Science
Climate science is an interdisciplinary field that draws heavily from physics, mathematics, and meteorology to study Earth's climate system and global climate change. It examines patterns of climate variability and change over time, with emphasis on the impacts of human activities like greenhouse gas emissions. Climate scientists use observations, theoretical models, and computer simulations to understand and predict changes in weather patterns, sea level rise, ice melt, and other phenomena related to Earth's energy balance. By exploring the complex interactions among Earth's atmosphere, oceans, land surfaces, and biosphere, climate science seeks to inform policy-making, adaptation strategies, and mitigation efforts aimed at addressing one of humanity's most pressing challenges: ensuring a sustainable future on a changing planet.
