It is an interdisciplinary field that draws from education, library science education, curriculum development, statistics, computer science, and information systems. Learning analytics can be used to inform various aspects of the educational process, such as personalized learning, adaptive instruction, student retention, and institutional decision-making. It provides insights into learners' needs, progress, and performance, enabling educators to make data-driven decisions that improve teaching and learning outcomes.
