Accounting is the systematic recording, reporting, and analysis of financial transactions of a business. It involves summarizing, analyzing, and reporting these transactions to oversight agencies, regulators, and tax collection entities. The financial statements produced by accountants are used by managers to make business decisions and by investors to assess the viability of businesses. In Human Resource Management, accounting can be used to track employee compensation, benefits, and related taxes. In finance, accounting is used in budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis.
