Sculpture

Definition of Sculpture as it relates to Art, Baroque Art, Fine Arts

Performance Art: A form of visual art in which artists use their own bodies, actions, and presence as the medium. It emerged in the 1960s and 70s as a reaction to traditional forms of art, such as painting and sculpture, and often involves audience participation or interaction. Performance art can encompass a wide range of styles and themes, from body art and conceptual art to live action role-playing and interactive installations. It is closely related to other forms of live art, such as theater and dance, but emphasizes the artist's personal expression and the use of unconventional materials and methods. Performance art can also be seen as an extension of Baroque art's emphasis on movement, emotion, and spectacle, as well as a continuation of Fine Arts' exploration of aesthetics and meaning in art.
