Definition of Scripture as it relates to Religions, Shintoism, Prayer

Scripture in the context of Shintoism and prayer encompasses the sacred texts and writings that serve as the foundation for Shinto beliefs, practices, and rituals. These scriptures transmit the teachings and stories about the kami, or spirits and deities, including their origins and characteristics, as well as ethical guidelines and rules for living in harmony with nature and society. By providing a deeper understanding of the divine realm and human conduct, Shinto scripture plays an essential role in guiding prayer and devotion to the kami.
