Definition of Karma as it relates to Religions, Shintoism, Mythology

In many Eastern religions and philosophies, Karma refers to the cosmic principle of cause and effect, where a person's actions in this life will determine their status in the next life. It is a spiritual concept rooted in the belief that our lives are shaped by the consequences of our past deeds, and that we have the power to shape our future through our present actions. In Shintoism, Karma is often associated with the idea of 'impurity' or 'taint', where negative actions can lead to spiritual pollution, while positive actions can bring about purification. Within the context of Mythology, Karma can be seen as a guiding principle that underpins the moral order of the universe, and helps to explain the fates and fortunes of various characters and deities in mythological stories.
