Globalization
Globalization, in relation to cultures, refers to the interconnectedness and interdependence of cultures worldwide, characterized by the increasing exchange of worldviews, values, ideas, customs, traditions, and practices. It is marked by the fluid movement and sharing of cultural elements across national borders, transcending geographical boundaries, and fostering a sense of global community. Globalization influences Asian culture by exposing it to diverse perspectives and ways of life, leading to hybridization and the emergence of new cultural forms. Similarly, Filipino culture is also impacted as it engages with global trends, ideas, and values, which may lead to changes in local customs, traditions, and practices. Globalization thus serves as a catalyst for cultural exchange and transformation, shaping and being shaped by cultures worldwide.
