High Energy Physics
High Energy Physics, also known as particle physics, is the branch of physics that explores the fundamental constituents of matter and their interactions. It involves the study of subatomic particles such as quarks, leptons, and bosons, along with their properties and behaviors at extremely high energies. The field seeks to understand the four fundamental forces of nature - gravity, electromagnetism, strong nuclear force, and weak nuclear force – and how they govern the behavior of these particles. High Energy Physics experiments are often conducted using large accelerators like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) which allow physicists to recreate the conditions that existed in the early universe, leading to discoveries such as the Higgs Boson.
