Definition of Environmental Health as it relates to Health, Urgent Care

Environmental Health refers to the branch of public health that studies how various environmental factors, including physical, chemical, and biological factors, impact human health. It encompasses the assessment, control, and prevention of environmentally-related health risks, as well as the promotion of healthy environments. Key areas of focus within Environmental Health include air and water quality, waste management, food safety, housing conditions, occupational health, and climate change. Professionals in this field work to ensure that communities have access to clean air, safe drinking water, and healthy living and working conditions, among other things. Ultimately, the goal of Environmental Health is to protect and improve human health by reducing exposure to environmental hazards and promoting sustainable practices that support a healthy environment for all.
