Definition of Sexual Health as it relates to Health, Health Care

Sexual health refers to an individual's physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality. It encompasses a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the ability to have pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. Sexual health includes access to accurate information and education about sexuality and sexual health, as well as access to comprehensive healthcare services that address sexual and reproductive health needs. It also involves the respect for bodily autonomy and the right to make informed decisions about one's own sexual health and behavior. Maintaining good sexual health is an important aspect of overall health and well-being.
