Teacher Education refers to the process of equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to become effective educators in various subject areas, including Home Economics Education and Environmental Education. It encompasses both pre-service training and ongoing professional development for practicing teachers. The goal of Teacher Education is to prepare educators who can facilitate learning for all students, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities, and help them develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become informed and engaged citizens in a rapidly changing world. This involves not only mastery of subject matter content but also an understanding of pedagogical theories and strategies, learner development and diversity, technology integration, assessment and evaluation, and ethical and professional standards. Teacher Education programs may be offered at the undergraduate or graduate level and may lead to certification or licensure as a teacher in a particular jurisdiction.
