Definition of Teacher Education as it relates to Education, Higher Education, Work Study

Teacher Education: A specialized field within higher education dedicated to preparing individuals for careers as educators in various settings, including K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and community organizations. It encompasses the study of pedagogy, curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, classroom management, diversity and inclusion, technology integration, and educational leadership. Through a combination of coursework, work study experiences, and field placements, teacher education programs aim to develop reflective practitioners who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to promote student learning and development, foster collaborative relationships with families and communities, and engage in continuous professional growth.
