Special Education Services
Special Education Services refers to the specialized instruction and support provided to students with unique educational needs, arising from physical, cognitive, emotional, or developmental disabilities. These services are designed to address each student's individual learning requirements, enabling them to access and participate in education on an equitable basis with their non-disabled peers. The services may include specialized instruction, related services such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and counseling, adaptations to the curriculum or the learning environment, and assistive technology. Parent involvement is a critical component of Special Education Services, with parents being actively engaged in planning, decision-making, and monitoring their child's education program. Elementary Education may be a common setting for Special Education Services, but these services are also provided at all educational levels, from pre-school to post-secondary education.
