Supply Chain Management (SCM) refers to the coordination and management of activities involved in the production, transportation, storage, distribution, and sale of products or services within an organization, with external suppliers and customers, and across geographical boundaries. It encompasses the flow of goods from raw materials sourcing to end-users consumption, as well as the information exchange and financial transactions necessary for efficient and effective operations. SCM requires a deep understanding of business processes, organizational behavior, communication, logistics, inventory management, and technology in order to optimize supply chain performance, reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction, and increase competitive advantage. SCM professionals must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, as they work collaboratively with various stakeholders to align business strategies, streamline operations, and drive innovation throughout the supply chain ecosystem.
