Printmaking

Definition of Printmaking as it relates to Art, Expressionist Art, Cubism

Expressionism is an artistic movement characterized by the distortion and exaggeration of form in order to convey emotional experience. This style often employs vibrant, non-naturalistic colors and bold brushstrokes, as well as unconventional compositions. In Expressionist Art, the artist's inner world takes precedence over external reality, resulting in works that are highly personal and subjective. While it shares some similarities with Cubism, such as a rejection of traditional perspective, Expressionism places greater emphasis on emotional expression rather than formal analysis.
