Lyrical Abstraction is an art movement characterized by its emphasis on emotion, color, and form over representation or subject matter. It emerged in the mid-20th century as a reaction against the rigid constraints of geometric abstraction, and sought to express the artist's inner world through intuitive, spontaneous brushstrokes and vibrant color palettes.
