Definition of Street Art as it relates to Art, Art History, Art Museum

Renaissance Art refers to the European art movement that spanned roughly from the 14th to the 17th century, marking the transition from the Middle Ages to modernity. This period saw a revival of interest in classical learning and values, leading to a new appreciation for humanism, naturalism, and individual expression in visual arts. Renaissance artists sought to depict the world around them with greater realism and accuracy, often using linear perspective, chiaroscuro (the contrast between light and dark), and anatomical studies to achieve this goal. They also experimented with new techniques, such as oil painting, which allowed for a wider range of colors and textures. Some notable artists from this period include Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Titian. Their works often featured religious themes, but also explored mythology, portraiture, and landscape painting. Many of these masterpieces can be found in art museums around the world, where they continue to inspire and captivate audiences today.
