Definition of Construction Documents as it relates to Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Architectural Design

Universal Design is an approach to design that seeks to create inclusive and accessible environments, products, and services that can be used by people of all ages and abilities, without the need for adaptation or specialized design solutions. It encompasses principles such as equitable use, flexibility in use, simple and intuitive use, perceptible information, tolerance for error, low physical effort, and size and space for approach and use. These principles are applied in various fields including architecture, interior architecture, historical interior architecture, and product design to create built environments that are safe, functional, convenient, aesthetically pleasing, and accessible to all users. Universal Design promotes independence, dignity, and social inclusion, and contributes to the creation of sustainable and resilient communities. It is a proactive approach that considers the diverse needs and abilities of all people in the design process, rather than retrofitting or accommodating for accessibility after the fact.
