Apes are intelligent, social mammals characterized by their lack of tails and highly developed brains. They belong to the family Hominidae, which includes species such as chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, bonobos, and humans. Apes possess a strong sense of empathy and form complex social structures. They are also known for their problem-solving abilities, tool use, and communication skills, making them some of the most cognitively advanced animals on Earth. Apes inhabit various regions in Africa and Asia, living in forests, grasslands, and mountains. Their diets consist mainly of fruits, nuts, seeds, insects, and occasionally smaller mammals.
