Prodidomidae
Prodidomidae, also known as long-legged spiders, are a family within the arachnid order Araneae. They belong to the infraorder Mygalomorphae and are found worldwide in tropical and subtropical regions. These small, agile spiders are characterized by their elongated bodies and legs, which they use to move quickly across their environment. Prodidomids typically build sheet-like webs close to the ground or in leaf litter, where they lie in wait for prey. They feed on a variety of small insects and arachnids. The family includes around 250 species, many of which are yet to be described. Prodidomidae is part of the superfamily Prodidomatoidea, along with Sicariidae (recluse spiders) and Ochyroceratidae (hanging-leg spiders).
