Steller Sea Lion
The Steller Sea Lion is a species of sea lion that is the largest member of the Otariid (eared seal) family. They are characterized by their large size, with adult males reaching lengths of up to 11 feet and weights of over 2,000 pounds. They have thick fur that ranges in color from light blonde to reddish-brown, and males have a thick mane of coarse hair around their necks. Steller Sea Lions are found in the northern Pacific Ocean, from Japan to California, and are known for their loud roars and barks. They are skilled hunters, feeding primarily on fish and squid, and are known to form large colonies on rocky shores for breeding and pupping.
