Stegodon

Stegodon is a genus of extinct proboscideans, or elephant-like mammals, that lived during the Pleistocene epoch. They were characterized by their long, curved tusks, which were used for digging up vegetation and defending against predators. Stegodon had a trunk similar to modern elephants and were herbivores, feeding on a variety of plants and trees. These creatures roamed across Asia and Africa, with some species reaching sizes comparable to modern elephants.
