Shortsightedness
Shortsightedness, also known as myopia, is a common vision condition characterized by the inability to see distant objects clearly. People with shortsightedness may have difficulty reading road signs, watching television, or recognizing faces from a distance. This condition occurs when the eyeball is too long or the cornea is too curved, causing light to focus in front of the retina instead of directly on it. Shortsightedness can be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery.
