Redback Spider
The Redback Spider is a venomous arachnid species native to Australia, known for its distinctive red stripe on its abdomen. They are part of the Latrodectus genus and are closely related to the infamous Black Widow Spider. Redback Spiders are known for their potent neurotoxic venom, which can cause severe pain, muscle rigidity, sweating, and nausea in humans. They are commonly found in dark, sheltered areas such as sheds, garages, and outdoor toilets. Male Redback Spiders are significantly smaller than females and are often consumed by the larger females after mating.
