Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics are a Major League Baseball team based in Oakland, California. They are a member of the American League West division. The team was founded in 1901 in Philadelphia and moved to Oakland in 1968. The Athletics have won nine World Series championships, most recently in 1989. They are known for their green and gold team colors and their mascot, an elephant named Stomper. The team plays their home games at Oakland Coliseum.
