Neoteny

Neoteny is a biological phenomenon where an organism retains juvenile characteristics into adulthood. This can include physical traits such as a smaller body size, larger eyes, and a proportionally larger head, as well as behavioral traits like increased playfulness and curiosity. Neoteny is often seen in domesticated animals, where selective breeding has favored traits that are typically associated with younger individuals.
