Second Coming

Definition of Second Coming as it relates to Religions, Monotheism, God, Jesus Christ, Messiah

The Second Coming is a belief held by many monotheistic religions, including Christianity, which posits that Jesus Christ will return to earth in a future event to bring about the final reconciliation of all things to God. In this belief system, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) has already come once as a human being to fulfill Old Testament prophecies and provide salvation for humanity through his death and resurrection. However, it is also believed that he will return again in glory to defeat evil, judge all people, and establish God's kingdom on earth. This belief imbues followers with hope and expectation, encouraging them to live righteously and look forward to the fulfillment of God's ultimate plan for humanity.
