Carbon Footprint

Definition of Carbon Footprint as it relates to Science, Environmental Science, Genetic Engineering, Global Warming

Carbon Footprint: A measurement of the total greenhouse gas emissions produced to directly and indirectly support human activities, usually expressed in equivalent tons of carbon dioxide (CO2). It includes the sum of carbon emissions generated from burning fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transportation, manufacturing, and consumption of goods and services. In the context of Environmental Science and Genetic Engineering, Carbon Footprint plays a significant role in understanding and mitigating Global Warming. By assessing and reducing our Carbon Footprint, we can help minimize the impact on climate change and transition towards more sustainable practices and technologies.
