Sibling
A sibling is a fellow member of a family, sharing at least one common parent with you. They are an integral part of your immediate family, and hold a unique position in the broader family hierarchy. While cousins also share a genetic bond with you, siblings have a more direct relationship as they are raised together under the same roof, creating a strong connection that often lasts a lifetime. In contrast to a spouse, who is an individual you choose to share your life with through marriage, siblings are a given part of your family from birth. And while a parent is responsible for nurturing and caring for their children, siblings provide companionship, support, and sometimes rivalry throughout the different stages of life. In essence, being a sibling means sharing a unique bond that is shaped by both nature and nurture, and it is an essential component of one's family experience.
