Sperm Whales

They are the largest toothed whale and toothed predator in the world, with males reaching up to 60 feet in length and females up to 36 feet. Sperm whales are known for their deep dives, which can last up to 90 minutes and reach depths of over 2 kilometers, making them the champions of deep-sea diving among mammals. Sperm whales have a complex social structure, with males defending groups of females and young against rival males. They feed primarily on giant squid, sharks and other large deep-sea creatures. Sperm whales are found in oceans worldwide, but they prefer cold and temperate waters.
