Cetaceans
Cetaceans, as a part of the Humpback Whale family within the Animal Kingdom and Mammals classifications, encompasses a group of marine mammals that are highly adapted to life in water. They possess streamlined bodies, modified limbs in the form of flippers, and lack external hind limbs. Cetaceans have a unique respiratory system that includes lungs and a blowhole on the top of their heads, which they use to breathe while at the surface of the water. This subcategory is characterized by a diverse range of species, including dolphins, porpoises, and whales, all of which share common features such as a highly developed brain, advanced social behavior, and a complex communication system. The Humpback Whale, being a member of this group, shares these characteristics while also exhibiting unique traits such as long pectoral fins and distinctive vocalizations during mating season.
